African Turquoise is an opaque blue-to-greem hydrated copper aluminium phosphate mineral. It derives its name from the phrase Turkish Stone, because the Turks believes that it brings luck to its owner. According to the Myths this gemstone protects horses and their riders. It is often cited as breaking during the fall – taking the injury for the rider or horse. From the myth you can also tell that Turquoise is not a very strong piece of stone. In fact, its hardness never quite reach 6 based on the Moh's Hardness Scale. Turquoise is easily faked, so you should buy it from a reliable seller like us.
